Hi, my name is Michelle and I research weather extremes and their impacts on polar climate.

I am a postdoctoral researcher at the British Antarctic Survey running high resolution simulations of storms to look at their structure and impacts. My background is in ice sheet surface mass balance and synoptic meteorology, and I specialize in atmospheric rivers. In October 2024 I defended my PhD in Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences at the University of Colorado Boulder, on the present and future impacts of atmospheric rivers in Antarctica.
